The unidentified man was walking south along Rixeyville Road when he was struck by a 2015 GMC Denali also heading south, near Colvin Road around 9:50 p.m. Wednesday, March 20, according to state police.
The pedestrian was wearing dark non-reflective clothing and was not in a crosswalk, police said. He died while being transported to Fauquier Health.
The driver of the GMC, an 83-year-old male of Washington, DC., was not injured in the crash. The crash remains under investigation.
